Mission Statement

The Northside Community Action Group was formed in 2005 by a group of citizens who envisioned having a community center for the northside residence.  They wanted a building to facilitate civic groups, 4-h, girl and boy scouts and senior programs.  Since then through lots of work by Northside Community Action Group members and Grainger County Parks and Recreation that dream has been realized.   The Group is now working on establishing a senior program and partnering with other organizations to form an after school program.  The would like to also raise money to help finish the walking trail 

The Northside Community Action Groups purpose statement is:
1).  Encourage a sense of fellowship in the community
2)  Supporting and enhancing recreational activities and artistic endeavors.
3)  Actively supporting a better way of life in the community
4)  Contributing to charitable causes that can help the community

If you live on the beautiful northside of Grainger County and would like to join this group, meetings are held the 1st Thursdays of every month @ 7:00 p.m. at the Northside Community Center located behind Washburn School.  Everyone is welcome.  For more information call Janet Fowler @ 497-3816.
